About us
Founded in 2004, MR:comp GmbH is specialized in testing implants, instruments and accessories regarding to magnetic resonance MRI safety and MR compatibility for use within the MR environment. We have been accredited according to ISO 17025 to conduct ASTM standard tests of MR safety and compatibility. Further our MR seminars are ISO 29990 certified.
Based in the heart of the Ruhr area, we have an excellent infrastructure regarding a high number of technical universities as well as a high density of well-known clinics. MR scanners are available from 0.2 to 7.0 Tesla.
Research services are provided in the field of numerical simulation of electromagnetic fields, SAR and temperature distribution analysing MR characteristics and RF-induced heating of e.g. implants and instruments.
Further, we are part of DIN, ISO and IEC as well as ASTM standardization committees in the field of the development and optimization of MR testing methods.
Who we are
Gregor Schaefers
Our founder and Managing Director Gregor Schaefers obtained his Dipl.-Ing. (FH) degree in medical engineering from the University of Applied Sciences Fachhochschule Gelsenkirchen, Germany in 2001.
He is a member of DIN, ISO and IEC as well as ASTM standardization committees and has been working in the field of MR safety and compatibility for development and optimization of MR testing methods since 1998.
